What is a Facial and Why do I Need One?

Lets breakdown the facial right here and all the benefits it brings...

A facial in a nut shell is a multi-step, skin treatment that is one of the best ways to care for your skin. It essentially provides a deep cleanse, exfoliates dead cells, and nourishes the skin. Facials not only address skin issues like acne, aging and pigmentation they also promote a well hydrated and clear complexion.

Your skin is the largest organ you have and it is important to treat it with the care it deserves. During a facial, the skin care professional will cleanse, analyze, steam, exfoliate, extract, massage, mask and nourish. But I believe the advice you receive from a skincare professional could be the most beneficial thing you do for your skin.

The skincare professional understands your skin type and concerns. They know how to care for it and treat it. Estheticians are highly trained to analyze your skin and provide valuable advice and education on how to maintain and improve your skin’s overall appearance and health. Sure, you care for your skin at home, but a professional can help you truly understand your skin.

How often should you receive a facial? The skin has a natural renewal process, it takes the skin about 3 to 4 weeks depending on age to go through the life cycle of skin growth and regeneration. I recommend getting a facial once a month for optimal skin health. Our skin also changes from season to season, thus it is important to treat yourself to a facial as the weather changes.

There are several benefits to receiving regular facials, here are only a few: facials prevent aging, facial massage promotes blood circulation to all of your organs and aids in lymphatic drainage, facials open up pores, eliminate whiteheads and blackheads, tighten, boost absorption, hydrate and detoxify.

A facial is more than relaxation, it is a treatment for the skin you will live in for a lifetime. Treat it well.
