Foods that Defeat Dullness

Care for your skin from the inside out with these 5 skin boosting foods!

Is your complexion looking a little dull these days? You may have too many dead skin cells on the top layer of your skin. There are 3 layers of skin on your body: the dermis, the epidermis and the hypodermis. The health and look of your skin depend on the first two layers, but today I’d like to focus on the epidermis, the outer most layer.

The majority of your epidermis is made up of dead cells that slough off over time. When the epidermis becomes too thick it can give your skin a flaky, white and almost yellow appearance. It is important to exfoliate your skin, but cautiously. There are however, certain foods that encourage your skin to turn over cells, thus promoting healthy skin growth and allowing the beauty of the dermis to shine through.

So, what can you add to your diet to increase cell turn over and fight dullness? Adding foods rich in Vitamin A, B12 and Folate to your diet will help promote just that! Here are a few to try:

Brewer’s Yeast
