3 of My Favorite DIY Oatmeal Masks

Updated: Apr 29

The Amazing Benefits of Oatmeal...

Oatmeal is a staple in my pantry, in fact it is hard to remember a time in my life when it wasn't readily available for breakfast and baking. Oatmeal is a superfood that is packed full of essential vitamins, minerals, nutrients, antioxidants and fiber. It is also incredibly beneficial for your skin.

Oatmeal contains amino acids, antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds that help to retain moisture, sooth, absorb oil, lighten, and exfoliate while cleansing the skin! Oatmeal also helps to maintain our skin’s barrier function, keeping moisture in and irritants like pollution out.

The best way to take advantage of the natural occurring properties in oatmeal is to make yourself an oatmeal mask. These masks benefit ALL skin types! Try one of my three favorites below and reap the benefits of an even and toned complexion.

Dry/Irritated/Redness

2 tbsp of cooked oatmeal warm, not hot (whole or ground oats)

1 tbsp honey

1 tbsp milk or 1 tbsp whole milk yogurt

Create a paste, apply to cleansed face and neck. Let sit for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

Oily and Acne Prone

2 tbsp of cooked oatmeal warm, not hot. (whole or ground oats)

1 tbsp honey

2-3 drops of tea tree oil

Create a paste, apply to cleansed face and neck. Let sit for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with warm water

Exfoliate & Hydrate
